The SUNY Institute for Academic and Innovative Leadership (SAIL) is grounded on the concept that colleges and universities need leaders who are strategic and innovative as well as have a firm understanding of the special nature of the academic core of the institutions that they serve. The SAIL Institute seeks to advance understanding and development of the next generation of leaders in higher education, and we are calling on you to nominate the people that are/will be charged with these critical leadership roles.

The SUNY SAIL Institute is pleased to host the annual Summer Leadership Retreat in 2024. We will gather together in-person for a week-long retreat to enhance our higher education leadership skills.

This intensive program focuses on discovering leadership (defining what leadership is, especially for oneself), and develops and applies skills around four broad areas of leadership experience: personal, interpersonal, team and system mastery.
Who Should Attend? This program is designed for mid-career SUNY faculty and administrative staff looking to expand their leadership skills, making them more effective on their campuses. Participants leave the program prepared with the mindset and skills to advance the work of their campus and take on more leadership responsibilities in the future.

Nominations will be accepted through 4/30/24 and then reviewed by a selection committee. Nominees will be notified of their acceptance status in May. Acceptance letters will include a link to register for the program. The program will take place August 5 - 9, 2024 at the White Eagle Conference Center in Hamilton, NY. Review the SUNY SAIL Institute webpage for complete details about the Summer Leadership Retreat, including associated costs: https://sunysail.org/about-sail/summer-leadership/
